1. Representation Before Government & Regulatory Bodies
IPA stands at the frontline of trade, environmental and product regulation on the industry's behalf.
- Trade remedies
Active submissions in anti-dumping and countervailing duty cases on Titanium Dioxide, Mica Pearlescent Pigments and Liquid Epoxy Resin; the TiO2 duty is under legal challenge before the Calcutta High Court, judgment awaited.
- Sustainability
Targeted representations to MoEFCC, CPCB and state regulators on Plastic Waste Management, pushing for practical reuse, recycling and compliance solutions.
- Product & chemical regulation
Opposed the proposed QCO on Titanium Dioxide; engaged CIB & RC on biocide limits (Diuron, Carbendazim) to keep rules scientifically sound and operationally workable.
2. Promotion of Technical Knowledge & Industry Advancement
IPA keeps the industry ahead of the curve, through knowledge programmes and its flagship conference.

Organised 32nd Indian Paint Conference “Allure” (ITC Royal Kolkata, 10–12 Jan 2025): 800+ delegates, 260+ companies, 38 sponsors — one of the most dynamic editions yet. 3. Inclusive Growth, Education & Social Responsibility
IPA is building a more skilled, inclusive workforce for the industry's future.
- PCSC RPL Programme
2,000 painters certified, 100% success rate, 51%+ women, reaching rural and tribal communities across Maharashtra, Telangana and Chhattisgarh.
- Expanding access
Skill competitions for persons with disabilities, and new micro-courses for students.
4. Strengthening Governance Through Committees
Regular meetings of the national committees were initiated to strengthen engagement across the industry. The Technical Committee has been actively deliberating on key issues impacting the paint industry. The Finance & GST Committee has been prudently managing IPA finances and prepared a detailed working paper on the latest GST amendments.
