Indian
Paint Association and Bank of Baroda have
jointly launched a training program on Paint
& Paint Application for Painting
Supervisors, Applicators and Painters.
The
most recent training programs under this
initiative was organized at Lucknow from March
7-12 2005 & at Gandhinagar from June 6-11,
2005 by Baroda Swarojgar Vikas
Sansthan (BSVS), a Bank of Baroda institution.
This 6 day residential program was attended by
over 15 participants. The course was well
appreciated by the participants, for being well
structured and conducted. The course included
important aspects of methods and techniques of
paint application.
In
this series, next training program is scheduled
to be held at Kolkata from July 25-30, 2005. For

Training
course on Paint and Paint application for
Painting Supervisors, Applicators, Painters
jointly conducted by Indian Paint
Association and Baroda Swarojgar Vikas
Sansthan. The
Bank of Baroda under the Baroda Swarojgar Vikas
Sansthan scheme is running 5 training centers at
Lucknow, Jaipur, Gandhinagar, Pune and Surat.
The Objective of the programme is to channalize
youth power in wealth creation through entrepreneurial
development and train youth for taking up self
employment ventures. Indian Paint Association in
collaboration with the Bank of Baroda has
initiated a certification course on painting for
painters and painting supervisors. The
1st six days residential course for the painters
was organised at the Baroda Swarojgar Vikas
Sansthan training centre, Lucknow from 7th to
12th March 2005. The programme was packed with practicals
and lectures on paint basics to give an
understanding of the nature behavior,
application requirements and dos and don'ts of
different types of Architectural Coatings
experts from GNPL, APIL, Shalimar Paints,
Surcoat Paints, Tata Motors, HBTI and Punjab
Paint cover different topics over 5 days. The
participants grasp of the knowledge imparted
during the course was tested on the last day
when all the participants secured 'A' grade and
were awarded their proficiency certificate
accordingly by IPA-BOB. The feedback BOB
officers was also very positive and they
expressed keenness for similar courses in other
BOB training Centers at Gandhi Nagar, Surat,
Pune and Jaipur. The
second training course in the series was
conducted at Gandhinagar for the western region
painters on 6-11 June, 2005. In the light of our
experience in the first course, the
presentations were improved and a presentation
on wood finishes, which is developing as an
important area as a result of up gradation of
technology in this sector, was also included in
the course. Slated
next in line is the course for the Eastern
Region painters at Lucknow starting on 25th
July, 2005.
